Why Are Annoying Political Texts Out of Control?
Editorial design and illustration for a long-form feature about the often unwanted and increasingly unhinged political texts that are perpetually pinging on every American’s phones.
Pulling from language found in actual political text messages, a typographic illustration style was created to effectively represent the chaotic and incessant nature of these texts. Color coded text blurb shapes are layered with carefully selected phrases, relevant emojis, and animated bobbleheads to visualize the nightmare of these messages. The layering effect also lent itself to compelling web and social media applications, in the form of gifs.
